MALI’s Lobbies

The lobbies of the Palacio de la Exposición are no longer mere passageways—they become immersive spaces that welcome, guide, and inspire. Through tailored furniture, spatial interventions, and a new wayfinding system, this transformation bridges the building’s historic legacy with the museum’s contemporary vision, turning it into a dynamic hub of connection, discovery, and cultural vibrancy in Lima’s Historic Centre.

The transformation of MALI’s lobbies was an in-house project owned by experiential designer Gabriel Córdova from October 2023 to January 2025, under the direction of architect museographer Carlos Tamayo. This intervention seamlessly integrated design, functionality, and narrative, reinforcing the museum’s role as a dynamic cultural landmark.
