Rupa Rupa: Smart Living, Sustainable Future

A family-oriented physical-digital system that visualizes environmental impact through an interactive smart terrarium. By monitoring household and external consumption, it fosters a cognitive and emotional connection, transforming daily actions into sustainable habits over time. This project redefines people-centered technology, proving that qualitative research can drive meaningful change in everyday life.

Academic Project, 2020

Input

The Anthropocene

We live in an era ruled by human beings. Our consumerist needs have led to the exploitation and reduction of biodiversity, polluting the earth. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the planet has been able to breathe again without the negative impact of humankind. However, the reactivation of industries and the old normality seems to be coming back…

Process

Morphological exploration

Following the idea of bringing the world and nature into the home, a series of drawings were made to conceptualize a physical-virtual solution that can be integrated into a contemporary city lifestyle home.

Output

Smart Indoor Ecosystem

Rupa Rupa seeks to show family members that their actions have an effect on the Earth through a representation of the Amazon pollution in the intelligent terrarium. In this way, it seeks to transform responsible individual initiatives into sustainable family habits.
