Vinculados: Inclusive Urban Rest

A modular bench system designed for high-traffic public spaces, offering an accessible and ergonomic resting place for workers and visitors. Developed with low-cost materials and landscape integration, it transforms commercial areas into welcoming, inclusive environments, where comfort and usability foster connection, pause, and shared urban experiences.

Academic Project, 2018

Input

Mall ethnography

The Plaza San Miguel shopping center was visited to observe the behavior and social interactions around the furniture.

Process

Manufacturing in workshop

After the usability tests, the wood was enabled with the corresponding measurements and welding processes were used to assemble the structure.

Output

Public furniture for resting in an open-air mall

These benches seek to be part of the experience of visiting the shopping center for children, youth and adults, providing appropriate and warm support without losing connection with the commercial urban landscape.
